Helen Holden, creator of the party-planning site CountingCandles.com, suggests parents first consider the age of both their child and his or her guests. ``Not all locations will be appropriate for every age,`` she explains. For example, an indoor venue such as a play space may be easier for young babies and toddlers because of safety and convenience, while an outdoor or more open space may be more suitable for older children who are more independent and require less supervision.
