A Very Lucky St. Patrick’s Day Birthday
11 Mar 2014

I am so lucky to have the best sister in the world so it is only fitting that her birthday falls on the lucky day of St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th!
My kids celebrated Auntie’s special day early while she was in town with a host of St. Patty’s Day crafts. StPatricks12

The kids enjoyed decorating felt shamrock-shaped placemats from Michaels Arts & Crafts with stickers and glitter, making toilet paper leprechauns, followed by coloring in pots of gold, leprechauns, rainbows and shamrocks. The kids stuck pretend mustaches, and stickers of pots of gold, rainbows and shamrocks all over their faces.

Next we made an assortment of shamrock-shaped, green-colored and minty-flavored birthday desserts including marshmallows mixed with green candy M&MS, Rice Crispy Treat bars decorated with green frosting shamrocks, Fruit Loops and Lucky Charms, brownies with shamrocks, mint crème Oreos, and finally a giant chocolate cookie with a big green shamrock. Of course we did not forget the mint flavored Shamrock Shakes from McDonalds.

As a working mom of twins, I look out for activities that are easy, quick and budget friendly with a creative flare. Likes to eat the frosting first!
