Spring Fun and Garden Party Activities

Flower and garden themed parties are perfect for Spring birthdays!
DIY sun catchers are a fun kids activity that can be done with only a few items – a paper plate, paper coffee filter, markers, stickers, and a pipe cleaner. First cut a circle out of the center of the paper plate and put glue around the diameter of the paper plate. Place the flattened coffee filter over the large hole. The children can use dot markers or any bright marker to make colorful patterns for the sun to shine through. Decorate the outer part of the plate with more markers, stickers, or gems. Finally punch two holes in the paper plate and use the pipe cleaner to hang the sun catcher in front of a window that gets lots of sun.

Decorating plastic flower pots is another fun activity for a garden themed party. We used kits from Target. The kids decorated each pot with foam stickers in the shapes of flowers, turtles, snails and birds. Next the kids painted flower markers that clip on to the sides of the flower pots using clothespins. What fun in the sun!
